Cogan Ophthalmic History Society 2025 Meeting
The President and Executive Committee members extend a cordial invitation for you to attend the 2025 meeting of the Cogan Ophthalmic History Society. This will be our 37thmeeting.
In 2025 the Society meeting will be held Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27 at the UCHealth Sue Anschutz-Rodgers Eye Center, on the Anschutz Medical Campus of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Aurora, Colorado.
We will gather on Friday evening, April 25, for a reception and dinner for all meeting participants and their registered guests. The reception will be held at the 3rd Floor conference room of the UCHealth Sue Anschutz-Rogers Eye Center, just a few minutes’ walk from several neighboring lodgings. We anticipate a tour of the VIP/Presidential Suite at neighboring Building 500, where Dwight Eisenhower spent nine weeks after he had a heart attack while President in 1955.
The program of research presentations on topics in ophthalmic history will take place on Saturday, April 26 and Sunday morning, April 27. An informal banquet will be held on Saturday evening at the Cedar Creek Pub, a short walk from the Eye Center at 1200 Ursula Court. There will be choice of fish, chicken, or steak entrée.
A highlight of the meeting will be the Charles Snyder Lecture, to be presented by Cogan Society member Dr. Wendy Gasch: “Gratuitous Eye Color Modification: An Overview”.
Registration for the meeting opened on January 18, 2025; payment may be made by credit card on the Society’s website, using the link under the 2025 meeting tab: https://www.cogansociety.org/meeting-registration-2023 The standard registration fee covers daytime and evening events and all meals. Regular registration closes Friday, March 28, late registration for an additional $100, is available until Wednesday, April 7. Reduced registration for guests participating only in the evening social events on Friday and Saturday is available. Reduced registration will also be available for registrants who do not wish to attend the evening functions. Refunds minus a $100 service fee may be made until Wednesday April 7; after that date no refunds can be made.
Abstract submission begins Monday, January 18, 2025. Abstracts submitted by Friday, February 21 will receive a decision and notification by Tuesday, February 25. The final date to submit is Monday, March 28, with final notifications by Friday, April 2. The abstract submission form is at https://www.cogansociety.org/abstract-submission-form .
We hope that all members will encourage colleagues and friends to explore their interests in ophthalmic history by joining us for the meeting, and in particular, to encourage those still in training to attend.
